These are different visual formats for displaying the same data. South Indian charts are fixed-sign square grids where the signs always occupy the same position. North Indian charts are diamond-shaped where the ascendant position varies. The planetary positions and predictions are identical — only the visual representation differs. I don't know my exact birth time. Can I still get a Kundli?
Yes — with limitations. Without birth time, the ascendant and house cusps cannot be calculated. Astromathi will still show you planetary positions, nakshatra, Moon sign and an approximate dasha timeline (Moon nakshatra is usually stable across a 24-hour period). For sub-lord analysis and house predictions, birth time is essential. Many hospitals record birth time on the birth certificate.
