What is Kaal Sarp Dosha? ▾
Kaal Sarp Dosha forms when all 7 planets (Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn) fall between Rahu and Ketu in the birth chart. It is associated with karmic challenges, delays in life events, and intense spiritual lessons.
How many types of Kaal Sarp Dosha are there? ▾
There are 12 types based on which houses Rahu and Ketu occupy: Anant (Rahu H1), Kulik (Rahu H2), Vasuki (Rahu H3), Shankhpal (Rahu H4), Padma (Rahu H5), Mahapadma (Rahu H6), Takshak (Rahu H7), Karkotak (Rahu H8), Shankhnaad (Rahu H9), Patak (Rahu H10), Vishakata (Rahu H11), and Sheshnag (Rahu H12).
Can Kaal Sarp Dosha be cancelled? ▾
Yes. If any planet is conjunct Rahu or Ketu (within 10 degrees), the dosha is significantly weakened. Jupiter in an angular house (1, 4, 7, 10) also provides strong protection.
What is the remedy for Kaal Sarp Dosha? ▾
The most effective remedy is the Kaal Sarp Dosha Puja at Trimbakeshwar (Nashik) or Sri Kalahasteeswara temple. Chanting Om Namah Shivaya, observing Nag Panchami, and wearing Gomed and Cat's Eye (after consultation) are also recommended.
Is Kaal Sarp Dosha always harmful? ▾
Many successful people have Kaal Sarp Dosha. The same pattern that creates challenges also creates intense focus and remarkable achievements when the energy is consciously directed. It is a karmic pattern, not a permanent curse.
